It’s official - we are thrilled to share that Éléonore Jarry-Ferron has been promoted to Partner at Brightspark!
Since joining over 6 years ago, Éléonore has been an integral part of the firm - defining its vision, creating deep connections with founders and partners, as well as becoming a close advisor to some of our portfolio companies such as DrugBank, Vetster, Martian Farms, and Valence.
Over the years, Éléonore naturally became a pillar of Canada’s tech ecosystem and she’s devoted to empowering a strong and diverse new generation of Canadian tech leaders. She co-founded Front Row Ventures, Canada’s university-focused pre-seed firm, and is deeply involved in organizations such as Canadian Women in VC and Technovation. Anyone that knows her will tell you that she is sharp as a whip, brings refreshing points of view, and has a contagious energy. She is the perfect addition to Brightspark’s Partnership, and solidifies the firm’s mission to create meaningful value for the long run.
The timing of this news is particularly exciting, as we are preparing for the first closing of our fourth institutional VC fund, the Brightspark Canadian Opportunities Fund II. With this new fund, we are doubling down on the success we have had with our existing Brightspark Canadian Opportunities Fund: same team, same focus, same passion - just bigger.
As part of this announcement, we are also pleased to share our decision to step away from antiquated multi-level Partner titles within our investment team. From now on, Mark, Sophie, Jacques and Éléonore will be simply known as “Partners”. Brightspark’s culture was built on the foundation of mutual respect regardless of seniority or title, and we feel that this simpler title structure represents us best.
It’s never been a more exciting time for the firm; the Partnership is as strong and complementary as ever - with next-gen VCs working alongside 60+ years of combined industry expertise - and the entire team is energized and fully committed to invest in the next-generation of world-changing founders.
