nGUVU Raises $3 Million to Bring Gamification, Machine Learning to Contact Centers

nGUVU, which creates gamification and machine learning software for contact centres, has raised $3 million in funding from Brightspark Ventures and Desjardins Venture Capital.

The Montreal-based company “gamifies” the responsibilities of agents within a contact centre, which the company says then motivates them to self-manage and improve by bringing more fun into mundane tasks. At the same time, the platform also provides data analysis so users can track whether they are reaching implementation goals. The funding is Brightspark’s first in Quebec using the firm’s new funding model, which allows Canadian accredited investors to co-invest in deals. Twenty-six individual investors invested alongside Brightspark.

“We are very excited about this funding,” said Pierre Donaldson, chairman and CEO of nGUVU. “Our mission is to revolutionize contact centres by putting the agent at the core of our strategy. The opportunity before us is huge because there are over four million agents in North America and 20 million agents worldwide. There is no other solution today that uses gamification and machine learning to improve the agent experience. The funding will be instrumental in accelerating our growth, hiring new talent, and enhancing our software.
