The Story So Far
As early as 35 years of age, many women experience debilitating symptoms caused by hormonal and metabolic changes, known as perimenopause and menopause. These symptoms such as insomnia, anxiety, depression, and severe fatigue can significantly impact daily life, causing women to drop out of work, withdraw from their communities, and suffer in silence for years.
Despite the growing awareness of these challenges, women’s health has been dramatically underserved and under-researched by healthcare systems all across the globe. Although research and solutions exist, they are mostly not accessible, leaving women to look for better solutions and spend thousands of dollars annually to feel their best in their perimenopause years and beyond.
To address this need, Anna Chif (Chairwoman), Fiona Lake Waslander (CEO) and John McCalla (CTO) started Coral — a company that offers a solution for women to feel their best during their perimenopause years and beyond.
Our Thesis
Women’s digital health has been an underserved market for many years. It is now becoming a prime focus for patients, employers and the community in general. Coral is building a product to look at women’s health in a holistic way, based on data, science and a premium offering. Many platforms are mostly focused on the transactional aspects of digital health while Coral is building a long term, preventive health partner for women.
We believe Coral’s team of repeat entrepreneurs has the experience and right approach to test, iterate and scale this venture. With Anna Chif, Co-founder of Dialogue - Canada’s largest telemedicine provider that went public in 2021, Fiona Lake Waslander, known for building and scaling D2C products and John McCall, previously, VP of engineering at Dialogue, we are confident that they have what it takes to address a critical gap in our healthcare system.
We are also very excited to be supporting a company that will be providing personalized, technology-enabled solutions for women navigating this critical transition.
