Hopper is a mobile application that uses big data to predict and analyze airfare. It provides travelers with the best deals on flights, and notifies them when prices are at their lowest points.

Hopper is experiencing incredible growth – it’s already been downloaded more than 3 million times – was named best Travel App of 2015 by Apple and won a 2016 Webby Award. So far, Hopper has raised over $38M in four rounds, Brightspark being the first and biggest investor.

Frederic Lalonde

It would be an understatement to say that Frederic Lalonde knows the travel industry inside and out. Before Hopper, Fred previously co-founded Newtrade, where he successful raised $7 million in two rounds of venture capital, and built the company up to 70 employees before being acquired by Expedia.

As a VP at Expedia, Fred developed product and growth strategies, signing up over 10,000 hotels to the Expedia platform. He later moved on to participate in various Expedia M&A activities, including the acquisition of, TripAdvisor, and eLong.

Fred joined the Board of Directors of in 2007.
